Speaking of reading… spending a blustery and cold afternoon at the kitchen table editing the third in our upcoming series of #hdtsscoutbooks – soon to be released in early 2016. This one was written by @deserteden during her year working at the local Yucca Valley check-n-go.
Neil Doshi this weekend at the #HDTSHQ #skyvillageswapmeet for his project the "Reading Aloud Room": If reading is an act of interpretation, then what is reading aloud? Are you both the parrot and the master telling the parrot what to say? Are we as listeners interpreting what the reader is saying or the sayings of their voice? What happens when the solitary act of reading becomes shared?
Another A-Z West Test Weaving (this one by @lourolf) that will be available at @bkbceramics ceramics in downtown Joshua Tree this weekend! #azwesttestweavings
The mesa cabin has been totally stripped back to its skeleton! It's terrifying to see it looking so vulnerable – but also really satisfying that we are finally getting into this project.
Look who's cooking in my kitchen!
Thank you Caitlin Denny for putting together the #desertarchivedays – a brilliant project, with such a great list of participants! #HDTSHQ
#desertarchivedays at the #HDTSHQ this weekend – contributions from Gubler Orchids, Morongo Basin Historical Society, Copper Mountain Community Center and Hi-Desert Nature Center!
Just finished watching an incredible slide presentation of images from the Morongo Basin Historical Society archive. This image is from the grubstake days parade in Yucca Valley – probably mid 1960s. #HDTSHQ #desertarchivedays
…was just sent a few "non-iPhone" images of the show in Berlin!
